Casey and I had one of THE best pastries last night. He might even say “the absolute best pastry” if you asked him. It was called an empanadita con nata, or a turnover with cream. It was soft. It was flaky. It was slightly chewy. It was creamy and even chocolaty. It was so good that we got another one to go and ate it for breakfast this morning. I took pictures on our good camera last night, but I took pictures on my phone this morning so I could share it with you. We didn’t bring our laptops, so I’ve been writing these teaser blogs on my phone. Here we go:
Mmmmm. During our travels, we’ve developed an extensive list of meals (mainly desserts) that we (mainly me) need to recreate when we get back home. This pastry would make anyone happy.
Anywho, we are currently on the train heading to Ronda now! I encourage you to look up photos of Ronda online because it looks amazing. We’re anxious to see this town in person and take our own pictures. In the meantime, we spotted an awesome castle on a hill overlooking a completely white village. See that white mass? It’s all the buildings! And the castle is at the very top of the hill. These are just things you don’t see in the US. I apologize for the bad quality of the photo; it was from my phone, but hopefully you can see it clearly enough. The trains have given us a great opportunity to see the countryside without driving ourselves. It’s been fun!
