Abel arrived today from Lagos! What a coincidence for me to be leaving tomorrow huh. It was great to see him again, so at least we had a few hours to visit. I packed and cleaned the apartment today, and then I joined Abel, Maria, and Martina for a fun dinner. We tried a new Tex-Mex restaurant called Tako-Away. It is similar to Baja Fresh or Chipotle in the US. I enjoyed the food! I ordered tacos – two chicken and one beef – but they have burritos and quesadillas too. The salsa was really good with a mild spiciness. Then they give you chips with nacho cheese. It was tasty! I’ll have to take Casey here when he gets back. Here are some photos so you can share in the fun too.
These stickers just cracked me up! Who comes up with stickers like these? A butt? Binoculars with legs? The butt is by far the strangest one, but my favorite has to be the cracked egg. How morbid but hilarious!
We went back to their house afterwards and Martina drew a picture of me! I look like Humpty Dumpty! I found out that Abel and Maria have never heard of Humpty Dumpty either. It’s always interesting to see what stories span different cultures or are restricted to just a few. It was a nice evening! I’m glad I got to spend some time with them. It will be fun to come back with Casey and have all of us be together again for a while. They are free tomorrow, so they will take me to the airport as well. How sweet! I’ll repeat myself from an earlier post: We couldn’t ask for better friends!
Now I must get ready for bed and try to sleep. I have a big day tomorrow! I’ll write when I can and keep you posted. Enjoy and goodnight :)
