Day 134: Gingerbread House

I wanted to make a gingerbread house this year, so my dad bought us a kit from Trader Joe’s. Casey and I had such fun putting it together! We had to make the royal icing, and it was tough whisking that by hand. It took some time, but we finally got it thick enough. Then we just had fun with it! The kit came with a little sugar Grandma who we put in the front yard with the dog/reindeer. Then the two grandchildren each got stuck to the side of the roof. We said they’re star-gazing. Apart from eating most of the icing while we were building the house, Casey enjoying taking the first bite off the Christmas tree out front!

Maybe we’ll make a gingerbread house every year and slowly work up to making our own gingerbread. That would be neat! Of course, as Casey says, we could always just use graham crackers. Either way, it will be tasty.
